BOND Youth Pathways
Explore Before You Decide
BOND Youth Pathways is an experiential career exploration and mentorship initiative designed to expose Black youth to the breadth of opportunities available to them across professional careers, skilled trades, entrepreneurship, technology, creative industries and other emerging fields.
Too often, young people make decisions about their futures based primarily on the careers and opportunities they have encountered. BOND Youth Pathways seeks to widen that exposure by connecting youth with accomplished professionals, entrepreneurs, skilled tradespeople, creatives and community leaders who can provide practical insight into different career journeys.
Through career conversations, mentorship, hands-on experiences, workplace exposure and opportunities to engage directly with people working in different fields, participants will be encouraged to explore before they decide.
Designed With Young People
The initiative will also place youth voice at the center of its design. Young people will be invited to share the careers they are curious about, the barriers they encounter and the kinds of mentorship and exposure they believe would help them make informed choices about their futures.
Experience Passed Forward
BOND Laureates and other accomplished members of the wider community will contribute their experience, expertise and networks, creating opportunities for meaningful intergenerational connection.
Whether a young person’s path leads to university, college, an apprenticeship, entrepreneurship or another form of training, BOND Youth Pathways is grounded in a simple belief:

Our goal is not to tell young people what they should become. It is to help them discover what is possible, connect them with people who can help illuminate the way, and equip them to make informed choices about their future.
